The Hypocrisy of Evolution and Naturalism
Skeptics often claim that there’s no evidence God exists. They think science has shown there’s no need for God to have created everything: evolution explains it all. However, evolution is still a ‘theory’. For example, there is no evidence that macro-evolution, one species changing into another, occurs. No fossils have been discovered to prove macro-evolution. Nonetheless, many intensely hold to science as the explanation for all of life. They fail to recognize their own hypocrisy: they have “faith” in science! This is sometimes called Naturalism, a philosophy that states only material things can exist. Naturalists “believe” scientific knowledge and techniques will eventually answer all questions related to the origins of life and the cosmos.
Can the Scientific Method Explain the Intangible?
For some people, this is understandable because it’s not easy for everyone to believe in the unseen. Many people think that the only way to know the truth is through the scientific method. Here’s an important point—science can only measure ‘physical things’. Yet we know there are intangible things that exist, like moral truths, emotions, and choices. Since science can’t measure these things, wouldn’t a naturalist then claim that they don’t exist? But they do!
God’s Invisible Power Visible In Creation
There are invisible things that don’t fit into a scientific “test tube.” God’s invisible power is one of them. We know He gives us love; it’s clearly felt in the hearts of billions of believers! His love is also shown in the beauty of our natural world. This elegant design could not come from random, unguided processes. The Bible says that, because of this evidence, we’re left without excuse. His invisible power is shown to us through the beautiful world around us. Clearly, it’s foolish to claim that there is no God.
Think Divinely: A foolish person does not follow the evidence
as it leads to the truth. Instead, fools act unwisely and often choose to create their own reality.
