Thankful for God’s Presence
Ā āYou make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.āĀ Psalm 16:11
God’s Presence: Nothing Compares
Nothing compares to the presence of God. This is what weāre created for, and yet, so many Christians I know have not experienced His presence. I am not sure why some people find it difficult to sense Godās presence, but I think the patterns and habits we form may have something to do with it. If we donāt practice stillness and silence, not only physically but mentally, itās harder to feel when God is present. He is always present (omnipresent), so one needs to plug into Him. I think more churches should help people learn how this is done.
Surrendering
To sense God, you must submit your whole being to Him. Surrender your heart and devote your mind to Him. Rid yourself of sin if you want to experience more of His presence. He knows what is going on inside of you anyway, so hiding sin is fruitless. The heart of the world is breaking under the burden of pretending to be something itās not. Don’t be like that! Cease to pretend, and take Jesusā yoke upon you to simply be real with God. Confess sin, and it will lose its grip on you.
His Presence Fosters Holy Action
Holy acts come from an inward desire to please God in whatever you do. He knows you wonāt be perfect at it, but He looks at motivations. Every act of life can be worship if your goal is pleasing God. As you yield more to Him, you will sense more of His presence. Remember, you are His child. Let that identity grow within you, and your motivations will also grow toward pleasing God. His presence far surpasses anything this world has to offer.
Think Divinely: Make it your ambition to please God, and
you will experience more of His presence.
