Our student notebooks guide middle school students with their note-taking to become more structured, logical, factual, and, most importantly, independent. We use colorful graphics to show the students what materials are important and actively participate with your students as they learn note-taking skills.
Perhaps most importantly, Apologia notebooks provide experimental lab report templates for each experiment listed in the textbook. Templates progress from step-by-step instruction to full student independence.
While there are no tests in our elementary science curriculum, students will begin building confidence in showing their knowledge through testing in middle school. Because test-taking is a learned skill, we gently walk them through that process.
In our 7th grade title, Exploring Creation with General Science, we specifically created the curriculum with open-book tests for the first few modules so that students are slowly introduced to tests and learn how to study and prepare.
