Course Topics
This course is designed to go beyond textbooks and numbers. Together, we’ll explore how foundational economic principles influence the world we live in—and how the decisions we make are shaped by values, ethics, and responsibility. We’ll bring these concepts to life through engaging
discussions, real-world applications, and some creative storytelling, including insights from The Hobbit and other timeless works. The goal is to equip you not only with a solid understanding of economic principles but also with critical thinking skills to analyze and evaluate the ethical implications of those principles.
Throughout the course, we’ll ask big questions like:
• What is money, and why does it matter?
• How do scarcity and choice shape the world around us?
• How can stories like The Hobbit teach us about freedom, stewardship, and decision-making?
