Description

Because the science of physics is an attempt to explain everything that is observed in nature, Apologia’s Live Online Physics course is an overview of the advancements in physics over the past 3,000 years! This physics live class provides students with a foundational understanding of the concepts in physics to prepare them for college, and this course focuses on the underlying scientific laws that govern God’s Creation.

Prerequisites: 

• Algebra 1
• Geometry — specifically trigonometry and the Pythagorean theorem 
• Chemistry (Recommended)

Course Credit: One High School Honors Science Course (w/Lab)

Students may sign up for any of the following class times:

• Tuesdays, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. EST
• Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. EST

• Exploring Creation with Physics, 2nd Ed. — Basic Set
  • Included in the Basic Set:
    • Exploring Creation with Physics Textbook, 2nd Ed. by Jay Wile
    • Exploring Creation with Physics Solutions and Tests Manual, 2nd Ed. 

• Any scientific or graphing calculator
• Any word-processing program
• Lab materials—a supply list can be found in the textbook
• Computer microphone and headphones (Recommended)

Course Specifics

This course is designed to supplement students’ independent study. Students are expected to read and work the problems in the textbook before coming to class. Lectures will explain concepts in the textbook, and students will be challenged to write formal laboratory reports.

This college-preparatory physics course is designed for students who have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry. Students should be comfortable manipulating an equation to solve for “x” and understand trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, and tangent) and the Pythagorean theorem prior to taking this course.

Recorded Classes

All classes are video recorded and available for students to watch later so they don’t miss any instruction.
