Description
In this short micro-course, students will be taught the proper method of implementing the rules of significant figures for the type of calculations they are asked to perform in math and science courses. These rules are covered briefly at the beginning of most physics and chemistry textbooks; however, this course puts all of the rules in one place and gives students plenty of exposure and practice so they become comfortable implementing these rules when required.
This course will provide students with a foundation that will be instrumental in their success not only in high school chemistry and physics but also in college science, math, and engineering.
This course contains 12 short modules that introduce a single concept at a time through reading and problem sets. Students can typically complete a module in a single sitting. Some students may finish this course in as little as a month, while others may choose to use the whole 1-year subscription window.
This course can be taken concurrently with a chemistry/physics course or even as a primer to enrollment in chemistry or physics. The short length of this course makes it perfect for summer school!
